Allamanda Circle

Celebrating Tussie Mussies

Allamanda Circle members were treated to a program presented by Carolyn Bartholomew, Vice President on the history and art of making Tussie Mussies. Experts agree this tiny "talking bouquet" may have been where the term "say it with flowers" originated. All the flowers and herbs send a special message. For instance, Parsley sends the message of "festivity", Rosemary, "remembrance", Lilies, "purity" and of course the Rose, "love". It was great fun and many Tussie Mussies were given to those in need of a smile.

November Meeting

Allamanda Circle's November 29th meeting was a lesson for all on Bromeliads. Uta McFadden, an expert gardener, and member of the Port St. Lucie Garden Club presented the program and brought Bromeliads of all species to share. Carolyn Bartholomew, our Vice President and Program Chairman, provided Tillandsioidea's for our members to purchase.
